14-Year-Old Arrested for Stealing Cables in Ibadan

Mother Faints as Son, 14, Arrested for Cable Theft

A 14-year-old boy, identified as Sulaiman Abubakar, was arrested by security officers at the Lekan Salami Sports Complex in Ibadan, Oyo State, for allegedly stealing cables valued at N300,000.

The boy, a JSS 2 student, had reportedly entered the stadium during a football training session and spent the night in one of the rooms before breaking pipes and cutting camera cables, with the intention of selling them.

When his mother arrived at the scene and saw her son in handcuffs, she fainted due to the shock.

Stadium workers quickly revived her, and she revealed that her son had offended her the night before, for which he had been punished.

The boy has since been handed over to the police for further investigation.
