OnePlus Nord 4 Review: A Mid-Range Powerhouse
The OnePlus Nord 4 is a mid-range smartphone that offers solid performance and features at a competitive price point, but it also comes with a few trade-offs.
Design and Build: The Nord 4 is notable for its all-metal unibody design, making it feel premium and durable. However, this also adds some weight to the device. The phone has a 6.74-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 1240 x 2772, offering vibrant colors and a 120Hz refresh rate for smooth scrolling and gaming. One unique feature is “Aqua Touch,” which allows the screen to respond well even with wet hands.
Performance: Powered by the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 processor, the Nord 4 handles everyday tasks smoothly and is more than capable of handling demanding applications. It also includes up to 12GB of RAM and UFS 4.0 storage, which significantly enhances speed and responsiveness.
Camera: The camera setup is competent but not exceptional. It features a 50MP main sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide lens, and a 16MP front camera. While it performs well in good lighting, low-light photography can be challenging, and the absence of a telephoto lens is noticeable when compared to competitors.
Software: The Nord 4 comes with OxygenOS 14.1 based on Android 14. The software is clean, with a few unique features, although some bloatware is present.
Battery Life: The phone offers decent battery life, with fast charging support, though it’s not the best in its class.
Overall, the OnePlus Nord 4 is a strong contender in the mid-range market, especially for those who prioritize design and display. However, if camera quality or low-light photography is a major concern, you might want to consider other options.
