PDP’s Ijaw Leaders Express Regret Over Fubara’s Actions
Ijaw elders from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have publicly apologized to Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, for the actions of Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara.
The elders expressed regret over the growing political tensions between Wike and Fubara, referring to the latter as their “son.” They acknowledged Wike’s significant contributions to the Ijaw people, particularly his role in ensuring that an Ijaw person, Fubara, became governor of Rivers State, a historic first.
The apology was extended during a gathering in Port Harcourt, where the elders reassured Wike of their continued gratitude and urged him not to distance himself from the Ijaw community because of Fubara’s actions.
They emphasized that it is not in their nature to “pay evil for good” and hoped that Wike would remain supportive despite the political friction
