FG Issues Guidelines for National Anthem Use in Nigeria
The Federal Government of Nigeria has announced that Nigerians must seek formal permission from the National Orientation Agency (NOA) before using the national anthem.
This measure is intended to prevent misuse or misrepresentation of the anthem. The NOA will soon conduct sensitization campaigns across the country to clarify these new guidelines.
This directive follows recent efforts by the government to restore the old national anthem, “Nigeria, We Hail Thee,” as part of a broader initiative to strengthen national values and identity.
The NOA emphasized that its role includes safeguarding national symbols such as the anthem and the Nigerian flag.
