Overcoming Panic Attacks: Alvaro Morata’s Inspiring Story
Former Chelsea and current AC Milan striker Alvaro Morata recently opened up about his struggles with depression and panic attacks.
In candid interviews, Morata revealed that he faced severe mental health challenges before Spain’s successful Euro 2024 campaign.
At one point, his anxiety was so overwhelming that he could barely put on his football boots or stay on the pitch, often fleeing due to panic attacks that caused his throat to close up and his vision to blur.
Morata shared that his mental health issues stemmed from the pressures of football, compounded by the criticism and mockery he faced.
This led to feelings of isolation, even around his own children. He credits the support of close individuals, including his psychiatrist, coach, and teammates, for helping him through these dark times.
Ultimately, he made the difficult decision to leave Spain and join AC Milan, where he hoped to find some peace.
