Floods in Maiduguri: Police Re-arrest Fugitive from Custodial Centre
The Borno State Police Command has successfully re-arrested an escaped convict, Abubakar Mohammed, who had fled from the Medium Security Custodial Centre in Maiduguri during the recent floods.
Mohammed, who was serving a prison sentence for culpable homicide, escaped after the correctional facility’s fence collapsed due to the severe flooding in the city.
The police have been actively tracking and re-arresting escapees from the facility as part of their ongoing efforts to maintain security.
