Justice Binta Nyako Resumes Nnamdi Kanu’s Treason Case
Justice Binta Nyako of the Federal High Court in Abuja has reaccepted the treasonable felony case against Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), weeks after stepping down.
The decision came after the Chief Judge, Justice John Tsoho, returned the case to her.
This development occurred after Kanu previously asked Justice Nyako to recuse herself due to a lack of confidence in the court.
The Chief Judge directed Nyako to continue handling the case to allow for a formal application from Kanu’s legal team regarding her recusal.
This case, which has seen several delays and passed through multiple judges, remains complex due to its long history since 2015.
