19-Year-Old Rescued from Trafficking Syndicate in Imo
The Imo State Police Command recently dismantled a suspected organ trafficking syndicate and rescued a 19-year-old female victim.
The incident occurred in the Douglass area of Owerri, where a group of traffickers, including a 38-year-old suspect named Justine Emmanuel, attempted to abduct the young woman.
The police were able to intervene when they noticed suspicious activity involving a bus where the victim was being forcibly transported to an undisclosed location for organ harvesting.
During the rescue operation, the victim bravely escaped by jumping from the moving vehicle, while the police apprehended one suspect.
The other members of the syndicate managed to flee into a nearby bush, and an investigation is ongoing to track them down. The police have reiterated their commitment to fighting violent crime in the region.
