Why Nigerians Are Quiet About N1000/Litre Petrol Prices
Nigeria’s Power Minister, Adebayo Adelabu, stated that Nigerians have not been vocal about the high petrol price, now at N1000 per litre, because of improvements in power supply.
He suggested that the enhanced electricity supply has reduced reliance on petrol for generators, which was previously a significant burden for households and businesses.
This reduction in petrol consumption has likely mitigated the public’s reaction to the fuel price hike. Adelabu emphasized that better power infrastructure is a key goal for the government.
