Government Cracks Down on Kidnapping in Enugu
The Enugu State government recently demolished another building used as a hideout for kidnappers as part of its ongoing efforts to combat violent crime.
The latest demolition took place at a property in Nokpa-Nike, located in Enugu East Local Government Area, where kidnappers had been holding victims for ransom.
Authorities had previously tracked and rescued victims from the building, and several of the criminals involved were arrested.
This demolition is part of a broader campaign by the state government, led by Governor Peter Mbah, to destroy properties linked to criminal activities like kidnapping and armed robbery.
The government has issued warnings to property owners, emphasizing that landlords will be held accountable for any illegal activities conducted on their properties.
The goal is to deter criminal behavior by eliminating any potential profit from such acts and reinforcing security across the state.
