Nigerian Universities Accepting 16-Year-Old Students from 2025
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has updated its policy for the 2024/2025 academic session, allowing Nigerian universities and tertiary institutions to admit candidates who turn 16 by August 31, 2025.
This decision marks a change from an earlier proposal to set the minimum admission age at 18.
The move follows discussions with education stakeholders who argued that students under 18 should not be denied admission if they meet the other academic requirements.
