Nigeria: A Graveyard of Unimplemented Policies
Former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo recently expressed his concern over the country’s struggles with policy implementation.
During a speech, Obasanjo lamented that Nigeria has become a “burial ground for policies,” meaning that while many policies are crafted, they often fail to be implemented or have any lasting impact.
He emphasized that Nigeria’s leadership often takes steps forward only to fall back further due to ineffective execution of these policies.
Obasanjo’s comments reflect his frustration with the lack of continuity and practical follow-through in governance, which he sees as a major hindrance to the country’s progress.
