Tinubu’s Government Shifts Focus: Sports and Niger Delta Ministries Scrapped
President Bola Tinubu’s administration has officially scrapped the Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs and the Ministry of Sports Development.
This decision was made during a meeting of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) on October 23, 2024.
The move is part of efforts to streamline governmental functions, with the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) now placed under the supervision of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF).
The Ministry of Youth and Sports Development has been split into two, creating separate ministries for youth and sports.
