Lagos Government Enforces Sanitation Standards in Agege
The Lagos State Government recently sealed a residential building in the Agege area after it was discovered to lack proper sanitation facilities.
The building, which contained more than ten rooms, relied on inadequate pit latrines that were in poor condition, with exposed waste posing health risks.
According to Tokunbo Wahab, Lagos State’s Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, this action was part of ongoing efforts to ensure a safe and sustainable environment in the state, particularly to prevent outbreaks of diseases like cholera.
The move followed complaints from local residents concerned about the lack of basic sanitary provisions in the building.
