Nigerian Military Recovers Stolen Weapons from Terrorists
The Nigerian Defence Headquarters (DHQ) has confirmed that a number of arms recently recovered from terrorists were initially stolen during ambushes on security forces.
The DHQ spokesperson explained that these weapons were lost during attacks by insurgent groups targeting military and law enforcement personnel across various parts of Nigeria, particularly in the northeastern and northwestern regions.
The recovery of these arms highlights the ongoing efforts by security forces to reclaim equipment lost in previous conflicts with insurgents.
The DHQ reiterated its commitment to intensifying operations against terrorism and banditry to ensure the safety of communities and reduce the resources available to militant groups.
This development has also prompted discussions on the need for additional security measures to prevent future losses and improve the protection of security personnel in high-risk areas.
