Bolt Driver Describes Assault by Lawmaker and Unjust Police Arrest: Watch the Video
A Bolt driver named Stephen Abuwatseya recently recounted a distressing incident involving a confrontation with House of Representatives member Alexander Ikwechegh in Abuja.
Abuwatseya was delivering a package to Ikwechegh’s residence when an argument broke out regarding the delivery.
The lawmaker allegedly threatened the driver, saying he could make him “disappear,” and even slapped him during the altercation​.
Following the incident, Abuwatseya was arrested and taken to the Maitama Police Station, where he claims police officers were upset that he recorded video evidence of the confrontation.
He was held for a couple of hours without access to calls, while Ikwechegh reportedly made derogatory remarks about him​.
The police have since stated that they are conducting an investigation into the matter, and Ikwechegh has been placed under questioning.
