Bishop Oyedepo’s Airstrip Controversy: Keyamo Clarifies No License Revocation
Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, has denied reports claiming that the House of Representatives requested him to revoke the license for Bishop David Oyedepo’s private airstrip.
Keyamo stated that such actions are not within the powers of the House and that it is impossible for private aircraft owners to operate in and out of Nigeria without adhering to regulations.
Keyamo emphasized that all aircraft operations are subject to oversight by aviation authorities to ensure compliance with safety and security standards.
He addressed the rumors circulating about Oyedepo’s airstrip, asserting that private airstrips must operate within the legal framework established by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA).
This clarification aims to dispel any misconceptions regarding the government’s stance on private airstrips and the regulatory environment for aviation in Nigeria.
Keyamo’s comments reflect the ongoing discussions about aviation regulations and the operations of private aircraft owners in the country.
