Court’s Decision: 67 Minors Granted Bail in #EndBadGovernance Protest
In September 2024, the Federal High Court in Abuja granted bail to a group of #EndBadGovernance protesters facing charges including treason and incitement to mutiny.
Justice Emeka Nwite set bail at ₦10 million per individual, along with a requirement for one surety in the same amount.
The court’s ruling came as a result of legal arguments highlighting the defendants’ right to bail despite the seriousness of the charges.
The judge also imposed conditions that restricted the defendants from participating in further protests or rallies as part of the bail terms.
