Nigerian Government Denies Mass Arrest Allegations by Libya Post-CAF Verdict
The Nigerian Federal Government has denied reports claiming that the Libyan government has been conducting mass arrests of Nigerians in Libya due to a recent CAF verdict.
The reports suggested that Nigerians were being targeted following a decision by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) that allegedly affected Libyan football interests.
In a statement, the Nigerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs clarified that there was no connection between CAF’s decisions and any actions taken by the Libyan government against Nigerian nationals.
The ministry also emphasized that they are in close communication with the Libyan authorities to ensure the safety and rights of Nigerians in Libya.
