Lagos-Calabar Coastal Road Venture: N18bn Offered as Compensation by Umahi
Nigeria’s Minister of Works, Dave Umahi, announced that N18 billion will be allocated as compensation for individuals and communities affected by the Lagos-Calabar coastal road project.
This coastal road, which aims to connect Lagos to Calabar and enhance the transportation network along Nigeria’s coastline, has been a major project for improving connectivity and economic activity across multiple states.
The compensation is intended to cover the costs for properties, land, and other resources impacted by the road’s construction.
Umahi emphasized that the government is committed to ensuring fair treatment for affected residents, and the compensation process is aimed at facilitating the project’s smooth progression.
The Lagos-Calabar road, once completed, is expected to boost regional trade, tourism, and investment opportunities.
