Impact of IPMAN and Dangote’s Deal on Fuel Market: What to Expect
A new fuel price is expected in Nigeria following an agreement between the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) and Dangote Group.
Under the agreement, IPMAN members will now be able to directly lift Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), Automotive Gas Oil (AGO), and Dual Purpose Kerosene (DPK) from Dangote’s refineries and distribution facilities.
This direct lifting arrangement is expected to streamline fuel supply, reduce costs, and potentially lead to adjustments in fuel prices across the country.
By bypassing intermediaries, the deal aims to improve efficiency in the distribution chain and address ongoing challenges related to fuel scarcity and price volatility in Nigeria.
As a result, consumers may soon experience changes in fuel prices, though the full impact will depend on how the new system is implemented and the prevailing market conditions.
