Honouring the Past: Tinubu Confers CFR on Late Taoreed Lagbaja
President Bola Tinubu has conferred a posthumous national honor, the Commander of the Federal Republic (CFR), on Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja, the late Chief of Army Staff (COAS). The award was presented during a funeral ceremony at the National Cemetery in Abuja.
Tinubu praised Lagbaja as one of his finest appointments, describing him as a patriotic leader who exemplified valor, selflessness, and commitment to Nigeria’s unity and democracy.
The late general was also recognized for his impactful leadership in combating security challenges, which significantly bolstered the operational readiness of the Nigerian Army.
Tinubu urged the military to honor Lagbaja’s legacy by continuing their mission with courage and dedication.
