Breaking News: Shari’a Court Exonerates Jigawa Commissioner in Adultery Case
A Shari’a court in Kano has cleared Auwal Sankara, the Jigawa State Commissioner for Special Duties, of allegations of adultery with a married woman.
The allegations were initially brought by Nasiru Buba, who accused Sankara of an illicit relationship with his wife, Tasleem Baba Nabegu.
However, the court found no evidence to support the claims following investigations by the police.
The judge, Ibrahim Sarki Yola, noted that the complainant and his legal team failed to provide sufficient evidence and did not appear to contest the findings.
The Hisbah Board, which initially investigated the case, also retracted earlier statements, clarifying that the accused was not engaged in any immoral behavior.
Tasleem’s lawyer highlighted that she had been estranged from her husband for months and was simply delivering food to Sankara on the day in question.
