Avoid Unnecessary Charges: NERC’s Directive on Faulty Meter Replacements
The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) has advised consumers not to pay for the replacement of faulty meters.
The replacement should be carried out by the electricity distribution companies (DisCos) at no cost to customers.
NERC has reiterated that it is the responsibility of the DisCos to ensure that faulty meters are replaced promptly without transferring the financial burden to consumers.
