The suspects—Nosakhare Umuwagbe (34), Frank Abumere (35), and Suleman Abba (22)—were apprehended following a recent surge in cult violence in the region.
They were stopped by officers of the anti-kidnapping unit during a routine check along the Benin-Auchi bypass at Iguomo community.
While the first two suspects tried to flee on a motorcycle, they were pursued and captured.
The third suspect was arrested in a car believed to have been used for the operation.
The police had been responding to a series of violent cult clashes in the area.
The authorities are continuing their efforts to combat cultism and related violence across the state.
