The Bayelsa State government has announced a one-week extension to the resumption of schools due to the ongoing flood situation affecting the state.
Originally, schools were set to reopen on November 18, 2024, after the flood break, but the resumption date has now been moved to November 25, 2024.
The decision was made to allow floodwaters, which have submerged many school premises, to recede. Both public and private schools in Bayelsa will be impacted by this delay.
