The Role of the Public in Political Criticism: Insights from Mr Macaroni
Skitmaker and activist Adebowale Adedayo, popularly known as Mr. Macaroni, has criticized Nigerian politicians, arguing that only citizens have the right to criticize their leaders—not spokespersons of the current government.
He emphasized that public officials are servants of the people and should exhibit accountability and humility.
In his recent remarks, Mr. Macaroni expressed concern over instances where officials displayed arrogance, citing the FCT Minister’s alleged disrespectful comments during an address.
He argued that politicians are answerable to Nigerians, whose taxes sustain the government, and that citizens should remind officials of their role as public servants when necessary.
