Inside Edo Politics: Why Oshiomhole Rejects Son’s Nomination, Insights from the Deputy Governor
Edo Deputy Governor Dennis Idahosa revealed that Senator Adams Oshiomhole opposed the appointment of his son, Cyril Oshiomhole, as the state’s Commissioner for Health.
Cyril, a U.S.-trained medical doctor, was recently nominated and sworn in by Governor Monday Okpebholo.
Idahosa emphasized that the decision was based on Cyril’s qualifications and competence, not family ties.
He further clarified that Adams Oshiomhole opposed the nomination to avoid any perception of nepotism, as the decision aligns with the governor’s vision for Edo State.
