Former Football Legend Ally McCoist Opens Up About Health Struggle
Former footballer and football pundit Ally McCoist has recently opened up about living with an incurable condition known as Dupuytren’s contracture, also referred to as “Viking disease.”
This condition causes the fingers to become permanently bent due to the abnormal thickening of the connective tissue in the hand. McCoist has spoken about how his condition, which has affected his ability to fully use his hands, has worsened despite two failed surgeries.
Dupuytren’s contracture is particularly prevalent among individuals of Northern European descent, and McCoist, who is of Scottish heritage, falls into this category.
