Official Clarification: Nnewi Shooting Not Linked to Senator Ifeanyi Ubah’s Burial
The Anambra State Police have clarified that a recent shooting incident in Nnewi was not an attempt to disrupt the burial of late Senator Ifeanyi Ubah.
According to police reports, the gunfight at Izuchukwu Junction occurred due to a case of mistaken identity, where local security operatives misidentified police officers as hostile forces.
The exchange of gunfire resulted in injuries to two passersby and a vehicle catching fire.
Authorities have urged residents to remain calm and assured that security forces are in place to maintain peace during the burial ceremonies.
