Job Racketeering Ring Busted: The Role of Forged Government Documents
The Rivers State Police recently dismantled a criminal syndicate involved in job racketeering, where unsuspecting job seekers were lured into paying hefty sums for fake employment opportunities in the oil and gas sector.
The operation led to the rescue of 16 victims, who had paid between N650,000 and N850,000 each in exchange for promises of high-paying jobs, often claimed to offer salaries in US dollars.
The scam involved a fake company, Ojoseansel International Global Limited, with operations in Igwuruta, Ikwerre LGA.
The victims were detained and taught how to deceive others into falling for the same fraudulent offers.
