Terrorism Charges Dropped: 50 Alleged IPOB Members Acquitted
A Federal High Court in Abuja has acquitted 50 alleged members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) on charges of terrorism due to insufficient evidence provided by the police.
The accused were detained for years in various correctional facilities across Nigeria before their release was ordered.
The court emphasized that the prosecution failed to establish their involvement in any acts of terrorism as charged.
This ruling comes amidst ongoing legal and political debates concerning IPOB and its leader, Nnamdi Kanu, whose separate case continues to draw significant attention both locally and internationally.
