Nigerian Labour Minister: Providing Jobs Isn’t Our Ministry’s Mandate
The Nigerian Minister of Labour and Employment, Muhammadu Dingyadi, has clarified that job creation is not part of his ministry’s mandate.
While acknowledging the country’s pressing need for employment, particularly among the youth, he emphasized that his ministry’s role is to foster a conducive environment for job creation, rather than directly creating jobs.
According to Dingyadi, the primary responsibility of his office is to support initiatives that enable employment opportunities, which includes policies that aim to create a business-friendly climate.
