Major Fake Medicine Bust in Lagos: NAFDAC’s N300 Million Seizure
NAFDAC recently seized counterfeit medicines and unwholesome products worth about ₦300 million during a raid in Lagos.
This operation uncovered significant quantities of fake drugs, including banned substances such as Codeine syrups, Tramadol, and unregistered antibiotics.
The seized goods also included improperly stored items that posed health risks.
The agency emphasized that these counterfeit products could harm consumers, especially children, who are often targeted by such operations.
Additionally, NAFDAC continues its efforts to remove unsafe products from circulation and cautions Nigerians to avoid purchasing items that lack proper registration or appear suspicious.
The agency urges consumers to report counterfeit activities to protect public health.
