Ogun Community in Mourning: Herdsmen Suspected in Chief’s Farm Death
In Ogun State, a traditional ruler, Chief Abiodun Folarin, was killed by suspected herdsmen while on his farm in Oha Village, Imeko-Afon Local Government Area.
The incident reportedly occurred during a midnight attack where the assailants, armed with guns and machetes, stormed the village and targeted the chief.
Folarin, who was sleeping outdoors due to the heat, was attacked and killed in what residents described as a brutal manner.
The attackers fled after the act, leaving the community in fear and mourning.
This tragic incident highlights ongoing tensions in the region between farmers and herders, with repeated complaints of violence, destruction of property, and other criminal activities associated with some herders in the area.
