Drug Bust in South Africa: Nigerian Duo Caught with N111m in Narcotics
Two Nigerian men were apprehended in South Africa with drugs valued at over R2 million (approximately N111 million).
The arrests occurred in the Northern Cape province near Upington following a tip-off about a consignment of drugs. Law enforcement intercepted their vehicle and discovered a significant stash, including 9,315 mandrax tablets, 2.012kg of tik, and 1.32kg of crack cocaine.
The suspects, aged 42 and 39, are set to face charges of drug trafficking in court soon.
The operation involved multiple units, including the Highway Patrol and Border Police, with authorities commending the team for removing such a substantial quantity of drugs from circulation.
