Inheritance Feud: Barrister Accused of Forgery Loses £1.2 Million Legal Fight
A barrister named Robert Grierson, accused of forging his mother’s signature to inherit the bulk of her £1.2 million estate, has lost a court case against his younger brother, Duncan Grierson.
The dispute centered on a will that dramatically altered their mother Elise Grierson’s estate distribution shortly before her death in January 2022.
Duncan, who was left with a mere £10,000, contested the will, claiming it was forged and that their mother lacked the mental capacity to change it.
Evidence suggested that Robert may have fabricated the documents, including a trust that claimed half of the family home for himself. The court found strong evidence of forgery, and Robert now faces serious ethical and legal repercussions.
