Lagos Pastor and Wife Sentenced to 10 Years for N52m Fraud: Church Closure Ordered

In February 2024, Pastor Azuka Ohez and his wife, Mary, of the Kingdom Power International Christian Praying Centre in Ishashi, Lagos, were remanded by a Sabo-Yaba Chief Magistrates’ Court for allegedly defrauding a lubricant company of ₦33.8 million.

They faced charges of conspiracy and fraud, with bail set at ₦10 million each.

However, there is no available information confirming that they were sentenced to 10 years imprisonment or that their church was ordered to be deregistered and closed down.

The latest reports indicate that the case was adjourned for substantive trial.

It’s important to note that in a separate case, Pastor Cletus Ilongwo of the Power of the Holy Ghost Evangelical Ministry was sentenced to seven years in prison for a ₦59.7 million fraud in 2022.

If you have more recent information or specific details about the case involving Pastor Azuka Ohez and his wife, please provide them, and I can assist further.
