Nigeria’s P’Harcourt Refinery: Operational but Petrol Prices Remain Unchanged, Says PENGASSAN

The Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN) has confirmed that the Port Harcourt refinery is now operational but cautioned that this development will not lead to an immediate reduction in petrol prices.

The association explained that the refinery’s output is primarily for domestic supply and would reduce reliance on imports over time.

However, factors like global oil prices and market dynamics continue to determine fuel costs. PENGASSAN urged patience as the refinery’s impact unfolds gradually.
