Chinese Healer Sentenced to 15 Years: Tragedy at Slap Therapy Workshop

15-Year Sentence for Chinese Healer After Workshop Turns Fatal

Hongchi Xiao, a Chinese alternative healer, has been jailed for manslaughter after causing the death of a 71-year-old diabetic woman, Danielle Carr-Gomm, at one of his “slap therapy” workshops in the UK.

Xiao, who promoted the rejection of insulin medication, convinced Carr-Gomm to stop her insulin treatment, leading to her death from diabetic ketoacidosis.

This is the second conviction for Xiao related to similar circumstances, as he was previously involved in a similar case in Australia.
