Ghana Election Results: Vice President Bawumia Admits Defeat to Mahama
Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Ghana’s Vice President and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential candidate, has officially conceded defeat to his opponent, former President John Dramani Mahama, in the 2024 presidential election.
Bawumia acknowledged Mahama’s decisive victory and called for a peaceful transition. He emphasized the importance of peace and pledged his party’s support for the incoming government, despite the disappointment within the NPP ranks.
The official announcement from the Electoral Commission is still awaited.
