Implications of President Tinubu’s Latest Appointment: Acting Accountant General
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed Mr. Shamseldeen Babatunde Ogunjimi as the Acting Accountant General of the Federation.
This follows the pre-retirement leave of Dr. Oluwatoyin Sakirat Madein, the incumbent AGF, who will officially retire in March 2025.
The appointment ensures continuity in managing Nigeria’s treasury operations and aligns with ongoing reforms under the current administration.
Mr. Ogunjimi, a seasoned civil servant with over 30 years of experience in financial management, has held notable positions, including Director of Funds at the OAGF and Director of Finance and Accounts at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
He is a chartered accountant and certified fraud examiner, with additional credentials in stockbroking and security investments.
Tinubu expressed confidence in Ogunjimi’s ability to enhance treasury operations and contribute to economic reforms.
