The Unraveling of Trust: Schumacher’s Former Bodyguard and the £12m Extortion Plot
Michael Schumacher’s former bodyguard, Markus F., is facing trial in Germany for attempting to extort £12 million from the F1 legend’s family.
Markus allegedly stole sensitive files, including medical records and personal details, after being dismissed from his role.
Alongside two accomplices, he threatened to release the data unless the family paid a substantial sum.
The extortion attempt was thwarted, and all three were arrested. Prosecutors are seeking sentences of at least four years in prison if they are convicted.
