Decoding Akpabio’s Tribute to Wike: A Closer Look at His ‘Man of Peace’ Declaration

Senate President Godswill Akpabio recently referred to Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), as a “man of peace.”

This statement came amidst ongoing disputes between Wike and Senator Ireti Kingibe of the Labour Party, who represents the FCT.

Senator Kingibe had accused Wike of sidelining her and neglecting the constituency’s pressing needs, such as access to clean water.

In response, Wike dismissed the accusations, emphasizing his focus on development projects, and even threatened to unseat Kingibe in the next election.

Supporting Wike during the inauguration of the Kugbo Bus Terminal in Abuja, Akpabio downplayed Kingibe’s criticisms, encouraging Wike to ignore distractions and continue his work.
