Tensions Flare on National TV as Rufai Oseni and Lere Olayinka Almost Clash
The incident between Rufai Oseni and Lere Olayinka on Arise TV today, December 13, highlighted tensions surrounding the controversial demolition notice issued by the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA).
Lere Olayinka, the spokesperson for FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, appeared on the show to address allegations of land grabbing related to a property owned by the late Col. Paul Ogbebor.
The property, reportedly valued at ₦3.5 billion, is at the center of accusations that Wike is reallocating it to one of his associates.
During the interview, Rufai Oseni’s use of the term “you guys” to describe the FCDA and the Minister sparked a sharp reaction from Olayinka, who found the term disrespectful.
This led to a heated exchange between the two on live TV, though they managed to steer back to the issue at hand.
The interview brings attention to ongoing debates about governance, property rights, and public accountability in the FCT under Wike’s leadership.
