ONSAP Reports: How Nigerian Forces Killed Over 8,000 Terrorists in 2024
Nigerian security forces have reportedly killed 8,034 terrorists across the country in 2024, according to data released by the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA).
The report highlights the successes recorded in ongoing counter-terrorism operations, particularly in the North-East and North-West regions, where insurgents and bandits have posed significant security challenges.
The National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, emphasized that the achievements reflect the intensified efforts of the military and other security agencies in combating terrorism and restoring peace.
He noted that strategic military operations, improved intelligence gathering, and increased collaboration among security agencies have been key factors in achieving these results.
The report also revealed that thousands of terrorists surrendered to security forces, while weapons, ammunition, and equipment were seized during various operations.
Ribadu reiterated the government’s commitment to eradicating terrorism and ensuring the safety of all Nigerians.
