Convicted Bank Robber’s ‘Compassionate Release’ Sparks Debate: Faces Re-imprisonment
Markham David Bond, a convicted bank robber, was granted compassionate release in 2022 after serving 26 years of a 46-year sentence.
However, in August 2023, he committed a robbery of a Brinks courier near Los Angeles International Airport, stealing approximately $145,000.
Bond was arrested in November 2023 and convicted on charges including interference with commerce by robbery and firearms offenses.
He now faces a maximum sentence of life in federal prison, with sentencing scheduled for July 11, 2025.
