FRSC Officer Assault: Woman Sent to Kirikiri Maximum Prison
A middle-aged woman, Monalisa Osayi, has been remanded in Kirikiri Maximum Prison after being arraigned for assaulting an officer of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC).
The incident, which was captured on video and widely circulated on social media, shows Osayi physically attacking FRSC officer MA-II Habeeb Ndaman Sayidi of the RS2.19 Lekki Unit Command during a routine traffic stop.
The assault occurred when the officer attempted to enforce traffic regulations, leading to a confrontation that escalated into physical violence.
The video footage has sparked public outrage, highlighting the challenges faced by law enforcement officers in the line of duty.
Following her arrest, Osayi was charged with assault and arraigned before a magistrate court in Eti-Osa, Lagos State. The court ordered her remand in Kirikiri Maximum Prison pending further hearings.
