President Tinubu’s Gaffe: Accidentally Addresses Lawmakers as 11th Assembly Instead of 10th
During the presentation of the 2025 Appropriation Bill to the joint session of the 10th National Assembly on December 18, 2024, President Bola Tinubu mistakenly referred to the assembly as the 11th.
Upon being corrected by lawmakers, he humorously remarked, “Which means you’re all re-elected.”
This lighthearted exchange occurred as President Tinubu concluded his budget presentation, which is titled “The Restoration Budget, securing peace, building prosperity.”
The proposed budget allocates significant funds to various sectors, including N4.91 trillion for defense and security, N4.06 trillion for infrastructure, N2.48 trillion for health, and N3.5 trillion for education.
