Arrest Made After 19-Year-Old’s Mass Shooting Plan at High School is Foiled
A 19-year-old student in Natal, Brazil, was arrested after a firearm she intended to use in a planned school shooting misfired.
The incident occurred at a high school in the northern Brazilian town of Natal. The student reportedly sought “peace” with herself and had planned to carry out the attack. Fortunately, the misfire prevented any injuries.
In a separate incident, a 15-year-old student, identified as Natalie “Samantha” Rupnow, carried out a shooting at Abundant Life Christian School in Madison, Wisconsin. Rupnow killed a student and a teacher before taking her own life. Authorities are investigating the motive behind the attack, which remains unclear.
Additionally, a 20-year-old man from Carlsbad, California, named Alexander Paffendorf, was detained for allegedly plotting a coordinated mass shooting in conjunction with Rupnow.
Paffendorf planned to target a local government building.
The FBI discovered their plans through exchanged messages and detained Paffendorf under California’s red flag gun law, which requires him to surrender all firearms and ammunition.
